Original RadiusRank research

SEO software prices are easy to quote and hard to compare.

We standardized 11 SEO platforms, technical crawlers, and content tools using official pricing and product pages. Native-currency prices remain native, interactive prices remain unconverted, and workflow coverage is separated from product quality. The result shows where suites overlap and where specialist tools still earn a place.

Updated 11 tools with source-linked plan evidence

ScopeThis is a dated, source-linked feature and pricing benchmark. Coverage scores measure documented capabilities, not data accuracy, usability, support quality, or ranking outcomes.
11SEO and content tools standardized

$49median exact USD starting price
3free or limited entry options

What the standardized data shows

  1. Only a subset of published prices can be compared as exact monthly USD values. GBP pricing, localized selectors, annual equivalents, and custom plans should not be silently converted into one false-precision league table.
  2. Semrush and SE Ranking document the broadest workflow coverage in this model. Ahrefs is close, while Moz Pro and Frase cover most of the core research-to-action loop.
  3. Screaming Frog and Sitebulb score lower by design because they specialize in technical crawling. Their focused role makes them complements to a suite, not necessarily weaker substitutes.
  4. Content platforms such as Surfer, Clearscope, and Frase overlap on optimization but differ in site auditing, AI visibility, integrations, and API claims.
  5. The cheapest plan is rarely the cheapest stack. Add-ons, seats, reporting, API units, crawl limits, tracked keywords, and content credits change total cost after purchase.

Source-linked comparison

Prices are preserved in the billing unit the vendor publishes. An interactive or custom price is left unconverted. The coverage score is reproducible from the feature flags in the downloadable dataset.

How to choose without buying duplicate software

Start with the workflow

List the decisions your team must make each week. Buy the smallest set that covers those decisions rather than collecting overlapping dashboards.

Keep technical crawling explicit

A suite audit and a dedicated crawler are different products. Use a specialist when custom extraction, JavaScript rendering, large crawls, or repeatable technical QA matter.

Model limits before price

Estimate projects, pages, tracked keywords, prompts, exports, reports, users, and API rows. The first plan price does not reveal the first usable plan.

Recheck prices at checkout

Vendors localize currencies and change plan structures. Use this dated index as a shortlist, then verify the official source before purchasing.

Methodology

  1. Selected broad SEO suites, technical crawlers, and content optimization products that can cover at least one recurring B2B SEO workflow.
  2. Captured the lowest documented self-serve entry point, preserving the vendor's native currency and billing language.
  3. Marked interactive and custom prices as non-numeric instead of estimating exchange rates or inventing monthly equivalents.
  4. Encoded only capabilities documented on official pricing, product, or help pages as of the snapshot date.
  5. Calculated an equally weighted feature-coverage score. The score measures breadth, not data quality or ROI.
The raw source links, normalized feature flags, native price strings, and formulas are included in the downloads so another researcher can inspect or update every row.

Limitations

  • The index does not include negotiated enterprise pricing, taxes, regional discounts, temporary promotions, or every add-on.
  • Plan limits can differ even when two products document the same feature.
  • Hands-on accuracy, freshness, support, and usability were outside this documentation-based phase.
  • Exact USD median calculations exclude zero-cost, native-currency, per-placement, per-client, and interactive entries.

Questions about this benchmark

What is included in the SEO software pricing index?

The index covers starting price language, billing basis, free or trial access, documented features, API and export availability, official source URLs, and a reproducible stack-coverage score.

Why are some prices not converted to USD?

Currency conversion changes daily and can hide regional billing differences. We preserve native prices and calculate cross-tool USD summaries only where the vendor publishes an exact comparable USD value.

Does the highest coverage score mean the best SEO tool?

No. It means the official documentation covers more categories in this model. A specialist can be the better choice when depth, accuracy, workflow fit, or total cost matters more than breadth.
